Jacqueline McClintock

Jacqueline McClintock (* 1957 ; † August 23, 2012 in Toronto ) was a Canadian actress and director who was best known as an acting teacher.

Life

Jacqueline McClintock was the tenth child of her French-Canadian mother, Elianne Rodrigue, and her Irish-Canadian father, Donald McClintock.

McClintock's education began at the Dome Theater in Dawson College, Bishop's University ( Sherbrooke ), then she studied film at Concordia University . The strongest influence came in 1998 when she studied acting with Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York.

As an acting teacher, coach and theater director, she has worked with thousands of students, directors and screenwriters in Toronto, Montreal, Amsterdam, Munich and Palma (Spain) for over 30 years.

In 2010, three of her most famous students have been nominated for the awards (e.g. TIFF Award): Rachelle Lefevre , Scott Speedman and Anna Hopkins for the film "Barney's Version" by Richard J. Lewis. Each of these actors blames McClintock for their success. Lefevre even said: "Without Jacqueline, I would never have had a career."

Also, Jessica Pare , which is now world famous as Mrs. Draper in Mad Men, was a student McClintock. In Germany, u. a. Birte Hanusrichter and Sebastian Gerold to their students, who also support them in international courses and today as teachers of the Meisner method they teach in their favor.

McClintock died of lung cancer on August 23, 2012 in Toronto
