Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater
The Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theater is an acting school in New York City .
Teaching is based on the Meisner technique invented by Sanford Meisner (1905–1997) , according to which the curriculum includes acting technique as well as singing , dance , voice training and stage fighting .
Among the graduates are such well-known actors as Elizabeth Ashley , Betty Garrett , James Caan , Tom Cruise , Robert Duvall , Jeff Goldblum , Lee Grant , Lorne Greene , Christopher Lloyd , Joe Flanigan , Diane Keaton , Steve McQueen , Christopher Meloni , Chris Noth , Gregory Peck , Sydney Pollack , Tony Randall , Liza Snyder , Jon Voight , Eli Wallach , Joanne Woodward and the German actors Philipp Moog , Carin C.
