Jacques Maurice Berthier (born February 10, 1916 in Paris , † April 2, 2008 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) was a French actor .

Life

Berthier began studying sports before studying the fine arts at the Louis Jouvet Conservatory and making his cinema debut in 1942. His elegant appearance and aristocratic facial features made him portray father roles, gentlemen of the world and officers from an early age. After stage appearances and a tour with the play "Ami-Ami" he was seen quite often in television series from the mid-1950s. Before some leading roles in Italian genre films, he also turned to short and documentary films under his own direction; He directed his only full-length feature film in 1960 - Anouk Aimée first appeared in it .

He also worked in numerous films as a voice actor for u. a. Raymond Burr in The Chef , David Niven and Gregory Peck . He was married to his colleague Lily Baron for the second time. His first wife and mother of his three sons, Suzanne Besnier, died at the age of 26.
