action

Richard Sorge works as a journalist in Japan. His regular publications in the Frankfurter Zeitung met with great enthusiasm in the Reich. On site he mimes the second hand of the ambassador, he is involved in the Nazi local group and makes the European and Japanese ladies equally happy. In truth, however, he is a Soviet spy and the head of the Ramsay group, which is broadcasting information to Moscow of what the partners of the fascist axis are planning against the Soviet Union. Sorge is supported by Hodsumi Ozaki , the secretary of Prime Minister Konoye , who sends him material from Japanese government circles, the fashion painter Miaggy, who uses his connections to the military, the French Serge de Branowski, correspondent for the Havas agency, and the radio operator Max Clausen, who works as established German industrialist, sending decisive war reports from constantly changing viewpoints. The group's information is well-founded and accurate analyzes of the global political situation. The radio messages are monitored by the secret police, but any attempts to track down the group have been in vain. Nevertheless, the circle is tightening and the work is becoming increasingly dangerous. On October 12, 1941, Prince Konoye's cabinet resigned. The new Prime Minister will be Minister of War Hideki Tojo on October 17th . Now the re-confirmed Justice Minister Iwamura is signing the arrest warrants. On October 18, the men from the Ramsay group were arrested.

criticism

“Since the authors could not choose between fiction and documentation, their product lacks both dramaturgy and authenticity. Colonels wear General Biesen , BDM Maiden the golden party badge , and the milieu is not more credible. The most genuine are the wide pants from Sorges Funker (Mario Adorf). "
