action

Arizona Roy is on the verge of being pegged by angry townspeople when Federal Agent Marshall Jeff Randall steps in, who needs him to witness a major trial. The suspicious Roy quickly discovers that he is actually supposed to help Randall with a planned gold heist. He then does this under duress and stops a stagecoach whose gold boxes worth half a million dollars have to be returned.

After the robbery, the corrupt marshal hides the gold in a tavern, but its owner Jane discovers it. When the bandit Vargas also takes it, the other three must work together to get the gold and escape the Mexican's gang. The sheriff of El Paso is able to solve the crime and is convinced of Roy's innocence.

criticism

“The director is almost slavishly following the rules of the genre, although he incorporates a few new gimmicks to liven up the subject. The representation is just about sufficient. The best is the color photography ”, judged V. Bassoli. Even Christian Kessler was not impressed: "No remarkable film. [...] Well-made ready-made goods, which nobody (t) brings to sleep, but which (is) also reasonably nice to appreciate. "

“Technically below average spaghetti westerns, brutal and raw”, so the lexicon of the international film .

Remarks

Almost everyone involved in the film is listed with (sometimes several) pseudonyms. The film song The Gold Men is interpreted by Don Powell .

In the French version of the film, the story was re-dubbed and the ending changed.
