life and work

Bral moved from Tehran to Paris in 1966, where he first studied architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts . From 1968 he switched to film studies at the "Institut de Formation Cinématographique". Short films such as “Quant tout le monde est parti”, “Frisou” and “M-88” were made. In 1978 he founded the production company "Les Films Noirs" with Jean-Paul Leca and Julien Lévi. In 1980 he shot his atmospherically dense hit film The Taxi Driver , which earned him the “Prix Perspectives du Cinéma Français” at the Cannes Film Festival . Another film followed in 1983, which was successful with both critics and audiences, the crime thriller Polar - Under the Shadow Linea Parisian private investigator who is ready to leave. Bral then took a break again (during which he produced the film Street Without Return by Samuel Fuller , who lives in Paris, in 1989 and also worked on the script) and in 1993 returned with Mauvais Garcon , a film about the love affairs of someone just out of prison dismissed burglar. He wrote screenplays in the 1990s - his next film as director Tödliche Diamanten (Un printemps à Paris) (a crime thriller with Eddy Mitchell ) wasn't released until 2006. His film Le noir (te) vous va si bien was made in 2012 .
