Jacques Martin (moderator)
Jacques Martin (born June 22, 1933 in Lyon , † September 14, 2007 in Biarritz ) was a French actor and television presenter.
Life
Jacques Martin was originally a theater, film and television actor, but made a career as an entertainer and presenter, in particular with the television channel France 2 . With his show L'École des fans , he was one of the most popular television personalities in France. In the 1970s, Martin occasionally worked as a film producer and director.
Martin is a father of eight. His children come from a total of four relationships. On August 10, 1984 he married Cécilia Ciganer-Albéniz . The wedding ceremony was performed by the mayor of the Paris suburb of Neuilly-sur-Seine , Nicolas Sarkozy , who became Cecilia’s next husband after the divorce from Martin. The marriage resulted in two daughters, Judith Martin (* August 22, 1984) and Jeanne-Marie Martin (* June 8, 1987).
In 1998 Martin suffered a stroke and has been paralyzed on one side ever since. He died at his home in Biarritz on cancer .
