Jacques Plessen
Jacques Plessen (born September 14, 1921 in Venlo ; † January 8, 2007 in Bilthoven ) was a Dutch Romance studies and French studies .
life and work
Plessen studied in Nijmegen , Amsterdam and Paris and received his doctorate in 1967 at the University of Utrecht under Bernard Bray with the thesis Promenade et poésie. L'expérience de la marche et du mouvement dans l'œuvre de Rimbaud (The Hague 1967). From 1970 he was lecturer at the same university and from 1972 until his retirement in 1986 he was a full professor of French literary studies.
