Jakob Christoph von Papstein
Jakob Christoph von Papstein (* 1718 ; † January 22, 1789 at Gut Tankow near Friedeberg (Neumark) ) was a Prussian major general , commander of Dragoon Regiment No. 8 and heir to Tankow.
Life
origin
His parents were the Rittmeister and heir to Wulkow Christoph Henning von Papstein and his first wife, a née von Oesterling.
Military career
Papstein was first a page with General von Blanckensee and then came to the cavalry regiment Grenadier on horseback (Schulenburg). After the Battle of Mollwitz , the regiment was divided and formed the trunk of the newly established Dragoon Regiment "von Normann" . In August 1755 he became staff captain . In the Seven Years' War Papstein in March 1758 Major , in February 1759 Lieutenant Colonel and in August 1769 , Colonel . He was then transferred to the "Alt-Platen" dragoon regiment as commander. In September 1777 he received his requested farewell as major general with a pension . Papstein retired to his Gut Tankow in Neumark, where he died on January 22, 1789.
