Jacques Vernier (athlete)

Jacques Vernier (born July 21, 1923 in Grand-Charmont , † April 14, 2015 in Avignon ) was a French long-distance runner .

Over 5000 m he was eliminated at the 1948 Olympic Games in London in the preliminary run and he did not reach the goal of the European Athletics Championships in Brussels in 1950 in the final.

In 1948 he became French champion over 5000 m with the national record of 14: 35.8 minutes, which he improved to 14: 20.6 minutes on August 29, 1949 in Gothenburg .

His twin brother Jean Vernier was successful as a middle distance runner.
