The Jaderpark in Jaderberg is a privately owned animal and leisure park in the Wesermarsch district , Lower Saxony . The park is divided into 4 theme parks, the zoo , the amusement park, the adventure park and the fun park. It is designed as a family or adventure park; The target group are parents with children up to about 12 years of age.

history

The history of the park goes back to the 17th century. The Kollmann family developed a pub from a country farm . During the Second World War , the Pundt family took over the inn. A private zoo was opened in 1950, but in the 1980s it no longer met the increased demands on zoo keeping. In November 1995 the Ludewigt family from Oldenburg took over the zoo and reopened it at Easter 1996 with a new concept. Additional theme parks have sprung up over the years.

In autumn 2007 the Jaderpark was featured in the ARD zoo docu soap Seehund, Puma & Co. , produced by Radio Bremen . A second season ran the following year, the third from April 2010.

Theme parks

Animal park

In the zoo, around 600 animals are kept on large outdoor areas and in tropical houses. You can see 35 species of mammals, a good 70 species of birds and some representatives of reptiles and fish. From the group of monkeys are u. a. Ring-tailed lemurs , varis , taffeta , Hanuman langurs , hooded capuchins and Siamangs . Lions and cheetahs represent the cats. Among the ungulates are giraffe , various antelope species , dwarf hippos , tapirs and Bohm Steppenzebras to find. Also, red kangaroos , meerkats or coatis are part of the inventory. Among the birds are the Humboldt penguin , the chile flamingo , the African ostrich , the great white pelicans and some species of parrots . The zoo also has a petting zoo .

The park offers rides for families with children such as the wild water slide , the wooden worm roller coaster or the “Fly Willy” and “jungle trip” trips up and down the mountain. For younger children there are some children's carousels such as the “Ladybird Railway”, the “Sky Glider”, the “Jump Around” and the electric horse riding track. Wave slide, trampoline and self-propelled elevated railway are also available.

Adventure park

The heart of the area is the African steppe with giraffes, antelopes, zebras and ostriches. A western train, the Jade Express, runs around this facility.

There is also the possibility of a boat trip, a children's cable car , various pets and a walk-in enclosure for fallow deer .

Fun park

A riding hall converted into a play barn with a climbing labyrinth, bouncy castle and ball game field for children up to 12 years of age.
