Jadwiga Zakrzewska

Jadwiga Teresa Zakrzewska (born November 4, 1950 in Płońsk ) is a Polish politician of the Platforma Obywatelska ( Civic Platform , PO).

Life

Jadwiga Zakrzewska attended primary school in Zakroczym and then graduated from the Technikum Ekonomiczne in Mińsk Mazowiecki . She graduated from the University of Social Sciences ( Wyższa Szkoła Nauk Społecznych ) with a degree in social sciences with a focus on territorial self-government. In 1970 she started to work in the Zakroczym City Administration and later at PSS “Społem” in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki . In 1980 Zakrzewska became active in Solidarność and became a delegate for the Mazovia region and became secretary of the NSZZ Solidarność in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki. With the declaration of a state of emergency in 1981 , as a Solidarność member, she was exposed to reprisals. This was officially recognized by the Institute for National Remembrance (IPN) in 2005 . With the beginning of the political reforms, she was elected chairman of the Solidarność People's Committee in Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki in 1989 and mayor of the city in 1990. From 1994 she was a member of the city council. In 1997 she moved into the Sejm for Solidarność . There Zakrzewska worked in the Commission for National Defense as Deputy Chair. In April 2001, she resigned to work in the Polish Ministry of Defense. In the parliamentary elections in Poland in 2005 , she stood for the Platforma Obywatelska and was able to win another mandate. This she succeeded in the early parliamentary elections in 2007 in the Warsaw constituency of 20 with 7,593 votes. Zakrzewska has been a member of the National Defense Commission since 2005. She is also a member of the Commission for Territorial Self-Government and Regional Policy and Environmental Protection (2008). In June 2008, Jadwiga Zakrzewska finished her studies at the Akademia Obrony Narodowej ( Academy of National Defense ). There she concentrated on national security at the Chair of Strategic Defense. The subject of her master's thesis was: Role and task of the Sejm's National Defense Commission in the process of changing armaments.

Jadwiga Zakrzewska is married and has two sons.
