The yearbook of electrochemistry series was launched by the physical chemist Walther Nernst together with Wilhelm Borchers in 1895. It includes a comprehensive evaluation of all publications on the new field of electrochemistry for one year in the quality of the Chemisches Zentralblatt or Dinglers Polytechnischem Journal . In 1901 his pupil Heinrich Danneel took over the editing.
The publication was discontinued in 1904. Richard Abegg gave the editor a position as a private lecturer at the Technical University of Breslau and contributed to volume 10 of the journal for electrochemistry and applied physical chemistry , the newsletter of the German Bunsen Society for Applied Physical Chemistry .
