Heinrich Danneel

Heinrich Ludwig Julius Danneel (born March 2, 1867 in Teterow ; † May 17, 1942 in Göttingen ) was a German physical chemist and professor in Aachen and Münster.

After studying at the Georg-August University of Göttingen and doing his doctorate in 1897 under Walther Nernst with a thesis on "Studies on the electrolytic deposition of metals according to Faraday's law".

In autumn 1897 he was appointed to the Royal Technical University of Aachen (Laboratory for Metallurgy) and completed his habilitation there in 1900. In 1901 he took over the editing of the yearbook of electrochemistry from his doctoral supervisor as a “private lecturer in physical chemistry and electrochemistry at the TH Aachen ” .

In 1904 he received a position as a private lecturer with Richard Abegg at the University of Wroclaw and worked on the editing of the journal for electrochemistry and applied physical chemistry , the newsletter of the German Bunsen Society for Applied Physical Chemistry . In the following years he wrote numerous monographs on tables and electrochemistry. In 1923 he received an appointment as a private lecturer at the University of Rostock (physical-chemical department).

In 1930 he received a call to physical chemistry at the University of Münster until his retirement in 1932.

He was a member of the Philippina-Saxonia student union .
