Jai Hindley (born May 5, 1996 in Perth ) is an Australian cyclist .

Athletic career

In 2016, Jai Hindley finished second overall at the Irish stage race An Post Rás , won the one-day race Gran Premio Capodarco , and a little later finished the Tour de l'Avenir in 5th place overall.

In 2017 he switched to the Orica-Scott youth team , where he was second overall and best young driver at the Herald Sun Tour . He was also able to triumph at the Italian stage race Toscana Terra di Ciclismo Eroica , at the Giro Ciclistico d'Italia , the youngsters' race of the Giro d'Italia , he also won a stage and was third in the overall classification. At the end of the season he was also able to win the Tour of Fuzhou , where he also won a stage.

In 2018, Hindley signed a contract with the UCI WorldTeam Sunweb , where the Australian came third in the junior category at the Tour of Slovenia . Furthermore, he started his first Grand Tour at the Vuelta a España , where he came ninth out of a breakaway group on the 17th stage and finished the tour in 32nd overall.
