Jaime Mota de Farias

Jaime Mota de Farias (born November 12, 1925 in São Bento do Una , Pernambuco ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and former bishop of the Brazilian diocese of Alagoinhas .

Life

Jaime Mota de Farias was ordained a priest on August 25, 1957 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Nazaré and titular bishop of Ausuccura on July 14, 1982 . The Bishop of Garanhuns , Tiago Postma , ordained him episcopal on September 11th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Acácio Rodrigues Alves , Bishop of Palmares , and José Palmeira Lessa , Auxiliary Bishop in São Sebastião do Rio de Janeiro .

On November 7, 1986, he was appointed Bishop of Alagoinhas . On April 24, 2002, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
