Jaire Zakar Alexander (* 9. February 1997 in Charlotte , North Carolina ) is an American American football poker players. He currently plays the cornerback position for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Alexander played American football for the University of Louisville for three years, 2015 to 2017 . Alexander made a name for himself in 2016, scoring 39 tackles and 5 interceptions for his team during the season . In his senior year at college, quarterbacks had the worst quarterback rating when they played against Alexander, no other cornerback in the NCAA had a better value in 2017. However, his last year at college was mainly overshadowed by injuries, so that he was only used in 6 games. Once he fell out with a knee sprain and another time with a broken bone in his hand.

NFL

Alexander was selected 18th in the 1st round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers . Only Denzel Ward of the Cleveland Browns was selected earlier in the position of cornerback in 2018 . The Packers Alexander signed a four-year contract for 12.1 million US dollars . In his 2018 rookie season , Alexander was featured in 13 games, of which he was a starter in 11 games. In his missions he was able to defend 11 passes for the Packers and tackle 66 opponents. In week 4, Alexander intercepted a pass from Josh Allen , quarterback for the Buffalo Bills , and scored the first interception of his professional career. This interception was also Alexander's only one in his rookie season. His first season is rated very positively by many experts and he is said to have had a major impact on the Packers' improved secondary . For his achievements in his first NFL season, Alexander was selected by the Pro Football Writers Association and the Pro Football Focus in the respective all-rookie team. The best rookie players in each position are selected for the all-rookie team and thus awarded.
