Josh Allen (born May 21, 1996 in Firebaugh , California ) is an American quarterback who plays for the Buffalo Bills in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for Wyoming and was selected 7th by the Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft . It is not to be confused with the defensive end of the same name , who has played for the Jacksonville Jaguars since 2019 .

college

Josh Allen played for the Wyoming Cowboys at the University of Wyoming for three years . In his first season he was set with the Cowboys as the third quarterback, so he came in two games on only 4 attached passes. From his second year at college, season 2016, Allen was a starter in the Cowboys and was able to impress with his individual performances. He threw 3,203 yards and 28 touchdowns with 15 interceptions . In addition, his team performed significantly better than last year. After four unsuccessful years, the Cowboys were able to achieve more wins than losses for the first time. In 2017, Allen played his third and final year of college. He played a solid last season, scoring 16 touchdowns out of 6 interceptions. After a good 7-3 start, Allen injured himself and missed two game days with a shoulder injury.

Josh Allen was selected 7th in the first round by the Buffalo Bills in the 2018 NFL Draft . He was the third quarterback to be picked in 2018, after Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold . The Bills threaded a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for Allen to move from 12th to 7th position in the draft.

Allen signed a four-year contract for 21,183,000 with the Bills dollars . Allen started the 2018 season as a backup behind Nathan Peterman . Even so, Allen made his NFL debut in the first week of the season because Peterman was knocked out during the game.
