Jake Bernstein is an American journalist and author .

life and work

Bernstein began his career as a journalist in Latin America . He reported for the Pasadena [Texas] Citizen and the Miami New Times , among others . In 2002, Bernstein moved to The Texas Observer . From 2004 to 2008 he was Executive Editor of the magazine.

In 2006 the book Vice: Dick Cheney and the Hijacking of the American Presidency , co-authored with Lou Dubose , was published .

2008 joined Bernstein to ProPublica , a nonprofit - Newsdesk for investigative journalism . For his coverage of questionable Geschäftspraktikten at the Wall Street Bernstein was together with 2011 Jesse Eisinger with the Pulitzer Prize for reporting domestically excellent.

Bernstein is a member of the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ) and researches the Panama Papers in this context . A book on this topic entitled The Secrecy World has been announced for 2017 . The film rights were acquired by Gray Matter Productions, who announced a film adaptation of the material by Steven Soderbergh .

Bernstein lives in Brooklyn with his wife Eve .
