Jakob Acker creates lifelike, portrait-like figures in the so-called Parler style . The realism that was emerging at the time is characteristic of him. His style turns from the so-called soft style , which is based on the ideal of beauty of the courtly world of the 15th century, to the realism of the late Gothic . His style of painting takes up the Italian suggestions of the time and shows an astonishing sense of appropriate perspective . Jakob Acker is also one of the earliest representatives of the Ulm School .
