Jakob Acker (born before 1441; died after 1491) was a German painter from Ulm who created late Gothic sacred works of art . His exact life dates are unknown. His creative period can be traced back to Ulm files between 1441 and 1491.

Life

Acker was probably a member of the widespread family of painters and glass painters from Ulm, which also included the important artists Hans Acker and Jakob Acker (the elder) . He is counted at the Ulm school . Jakob Acker (the younger) is the creator of the signed altar in the cemetery chapel of Riississen , which was completed in 1483 . This is the only work of art that exists today and was certainly created by him. There is evidence that he also painted the doors of the main organ of the Ulm Minster . However, this organ was lost on June 19, 1531, the Ulm "Götzentag" in a Reformation iconoclasm on the art treasures of the Ulm Minster.

The Risstisser retable was probably not originally created for the Risstisser cemetery chapel and could have been brought from Niederstotzingen to Risstissen by members of the family of the Barons von Stotzingen .

Jakob Acker is repeatedly mentioned in the literature as Jörg Stocker's teacher , but this cannot be proven with certainty.
