Acker's style turns from the so-called soft style , which is based on the ideal of beauty of the courtly world of the 15th century, to late Gothic realism . He is assigned to the generation around Hans Multscher , Lukas Moser and Hans Witz . At the same time he is an early representative of the Ulm School . His background motifs are characterized by depictions of landscapes and testify to a great love for detail (e.g. flowers, lakes, mountains, city silhouettes). This is combined with the highest technical and artistic quality.

  • The Passion Window of Bern Minster from 1441 is also attributed to him , which at the time was dismantled and transported from Ulm to Bern .
