Jakob Heusser-Staub (born March 3, 1862 in Irgenhausen near Pfäffikon ZH ; † August 23, 1941 in Uster , Canton of Zurich) was a Swiss industrialist.

The son of Kaspar Heusser-Schellenberg (1836–1910) graduated from the industrial school in Zurich in 1879, trained in his parents' textile company and interned abroad in the silk industry in Lyon and England.

From 1883 he managed the family's own spinning mill in Schwarz in Bubikon . In 1889 he married Berta Staub. From 1897 he worked as a textile dealer and in 1900 acquired a second spinning mill in Oberuster. After the death of his father, he took over the family business, the expansion of which he pushed through further spinning mills (today Hesta AG). In 1919 he acquired the majority of shares in Schiesser . At the beginning of the 1920s he participated in the production of the first sound film in Switzerland. In 1916 he acquired Uster Castle , had it renovated and founded a school in it, which he brought into the Heusser-Staub-Foundation established in 1927 together with the day nursery on Florastrasse. On their land on the Uster Schlossberg, viticulture was resumed after 1975. In 1929 he bought the shares in the cotton spinning and weaving mill in Wettingen for 4 million Swiss francs with the intention of shutting them down, but an economic upswing had just started to take hold. In addition, the water rights that he had sold to the city of Zurich for the construction of the Limmat power plant generated good returns. From then on, the company switched the transmission drive of the water turbines to electricity, which it obtained from the Wettingen electricity company. Since he had no descendants, Heusser-Staub arranged his successor as chairman of the Schiesser supervisory board: in 1938 he founded Hesta Holding as part of the Swiss Heusser-Staub AG (later Hesta AG), the foundation stone of which was laid by his father in 1869. The Hesta Holding became the parent company of Schiesser.
