Jakob Jost

Jakob Jost (born March 23, 1904 in Koblenz , † October 2, 1960 in Bad Kissingen ) was a German politician ( center , CDP / CDU ).

Life

Jost attended elementary school and then made 1918–1921 training as a publishing company at the Koblenzer Volkszeitung . 1921–1926 he was an office assistant at the Böhler-Werke in Neuss and from 1926–1935 a publishing clerk at the Koblenzer Volkszeitung. He was released in 1935 for political reasons and imprisoned by the Gestapo . 1935–1937 he was the deputy managing director of the Paulinus printing company in Trier . There, too, he was released for political reasons. 1937–1945 he worked for the Mission Transport Working Group in Cologne . In 1940 he did military service and was dismissed for health reasons . In 1943 he became managing director of the Mission Transport Working Group.

During the Weimar Republic he was a member of the center and prefect and district leader of the Marian men's congregations . After the seizure of power , political activity was no longer possible.

After the Second World War he joined the CDP , from which the Rhineland-Palatinate state association of the CDU later emerged. He was district chairman of the CDP for the district of Koblenz. For this he was a member of the advisory state assembly in 1946/47 .

In 1945 he became mayor of Mülheim (Koblenz district) and was mayor of Weißenthurm from 1945 to 1947 . In 1947 he became district administrator of the district of Koblenz .
