Jakob Peuppus (born April 10, 1859 in Nuremberg ; † January 19, 1905 ) was a Bavarian military musician and conductor .

He performed as a violinist and clarinetist on October 6, 1877 at the Kgl. Bayer. 1st Infantry Regiment in Munich and was promoted by Obermusikmeister Friedrich Hünns.

He was ordered to study at the Academy of Music and performed as freshly baked Stabshoboist 1890 the successor of Friedrich Hünns. On May 31, 1901, he voluntarily retired from military service and founded his own orchestra, the Peuppus Chapel , whose places of activity were the USA , among others . B. at the world exhibition in Buffalo .

He received several awards from the Löwenbräukeller management for the 1000th concert on June 23, 1892 and for the 2000th concert on December 16, 1899.

For his dear friend, the Bavarian folk singer and Singspiel director Jakob Geis , he composed the “Papa Geis March” in 1901 for his 60th birthday in his honor and using various couplet melodies.

Jakob Peuppus' sound recordings were made at Victor and Columbia .

After his death, his son Martin Peuppus took over the leadership of the Peuppus chapel.
