Jakob Pfyffer-Feer

Jakob Pfyffer-Feer (* 1745 in Lucerne , † 1809 in Bern ) was a Swiss politician and military.

Life

Jakob Pfyffer-Feer devoted himself to a diplomatic career early on and became a member of the Grand Council in 1769. He was also active in the military sector out of inclination and in 1775 became captain of the papal guard in Pesaro . In 1784, however, he renounced the military class again. Since then he has held several important state offices. After returning from a trip through Italy , he died in Bern in 1809.

During the French Revolution , Pfyffer made himself known through several essays, through which he tried to restore the disturbed order in his fatherland. This includes his address, written in 1801, to the Executive Council and to the French envoy Reinhard, to whom he also presented his apology of the highest financial tribunal for review. Later font from 1806 is titled: About the way, as the explanation of the tithes-ransom in a former manor Buttisholz should happen .
