Jakob Schoenmackers

Jakob Schoenmackers (born May 26, 1912 in Geldern , † November 22, 1982 in Aachen ) was a German pathologist and university professor.

Life

Schoenmackers studied medicine at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg , the Philipps University of Marburg , the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich and the Medical Academy in Düsseldorf . He passed the state examination in Düsseldorf in 1936 and was awarded a Dr. med. PhD. He was a medical intern in Duisburg. Interrupted by his participation in the Second World War, he then spent nine years with Arthur Wilke in the pathology department of the Essen municipal hospitals .

In 1947 he moved to the Medical Academy in Düsseldorf. When Paul Hübschmann habilitation he 1948. Under Hubert Meessen he was appointed in 1954 apl. Professor appointed.

Since November 1, 1960, director of the Pathological-Bacteriological Institute of the Aachen City Hospital , he was accepted into the teaching body of the RWTH Aachen University as a full professor for pathology in 1966. 1966/67 he was dean of the medical faculty.
