Jakub Kornhauser

Jakub Kornhauser (* 1984 in Krakow ) is a Polish poet , literary critic and Romanist . Scientifically, he is particularly concerned with the avant-garde movements in Central and Eastern Europe.

Life

Kornhauser was born in Kraków in 1984 as the son of Julian Kornhauser .

In 2007 Kornhauser made his debut with the volume of poetry Niebezpieczny Paragraf when he was still a student at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.

In 2014 Kornhauser received his doctorate in literary studies from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow with the thesis Status przedmiotu w poezji europejskiego surrealizmu (Status of the subject in the poetry of European surrealism). He lectures at the Institute for Romance Philology at the Jagiellonian University.

Since 2015 he has been a member of the editorial board of the monthly Literatura na Świecie (Literature in the World).

In 2016 he was awarded the Wisława Szymborska Prize for his third volume of poems, Drożdżownia .
