Jakub Sklenář (born March 20, 1988 in Znojmo , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech ice hockey player . Since 2004 he has been playing for HC Slavia Prague in the Czech extra league .

Career

Sklenář began his career in the youth teams of HC Znojemští Orli , where he made it to the U18 extra league team until 2004. He then moved to HC Slavia Prague , where he also went through the junior teams of the top division and in 2006 was in the squad of the professional club. At the age of 20 he completed his first full season in the top Czech league, taking part in games of HC Slavia in the Champions Hockey League , in which he contributed two goals in four games and reached the runner-up in the league. The year before he had become Czech champion for the first time .

International

The striker gained his first experience at the U18 Junior World Championship in 2006 in the squad of the Czech junior national team , when he won the U18 Junior World Championship with the team. In the U20 juniors, Sklenář represented the team at the Junior World Championship 2008 , where the selection finished fifth in the final standings.
