The Jaldhaka (also Di Chu ; Nepali जलढका) is a right tributary of the Brahmaputra in Bhutan , Bangladesh and in the Indian states of Sikkim and West Bengal .

The Jaldhaka originates in the Himalayas near Bindu on the border between Sikkim and Bhutan at the confluence of three source rivers. There it is dammed by the Bindu Dam . The Jaldhaka flows south and forms the state border between India and Bhutan. At ( ) there is a 27 MW hydropower plant on the river. It consists of 5 units that were put into operation between 1967 and 1983. The Jaldhaka leaves the mountains and flows through the west Bengal plain in a south and later in a south-southeast direction. It takes on several tributaries, including Murti from the right and Diana from the left. The Jaldhaka also bears the name Singimari in the lower reaches above the border with Bangladesh . During the last few kilometers in Bangladesh, the river is called Dharla . Finally the river flows into the Brahmaputra at Kurigram . The river length of the Jaldhaka is 186 km (according to other sources 192 km). The 3958 km² catchment area of the Jaldhaka borders on that of the Torsa in the east and that of the Tista in the west .
