Jamal is a Polish music duo from Radom that has existed since 1999 with a break from 2001 to 2004 . In its music it combines elements of hip-hop , raggamuffin and reggae with those of world music and jazz .

Career

Jamal consists of the singer Tomek "Miód" Mioduszewski and the producer Łukasz Borowiecki. Mioduszewski initially played in various metal bands. In 2001 he joined the reggae band Le Illjah , with whom he won first prize at the reggae festival in Ostróda .

Borowiecki attended the state music school "Oskar Kolberg" in Radom, where he learned bass and keyboard . Since 2001 he has continued his education at the jazz department of the Fryderyk Chopin State Music School in Warsaw .

In 2005 the two released their first CD entitled Rewolucje at EMI . Urban Discotheque was released in 2008 .

On their album Rhythms & Hymns (2007) Mattafix used Jamal's song Warto to przetrwać as the basis for the song Freeman .
