Jamarca Deshaun Sanford (* 27. August 1985 in Batesville , Mississippi ) is a former American American Footballer in the National Football League (NFL). He played for the Minnesota Vikings , Washington Redskins and New Orleans Saints as safety .

college

Sanford attended the University of Mississippi and played for their team, the Ole Miss Rebels, in various positions in secondary college football .

NFL

Minnesota Vikings

In the NFL Draft 2009 he was selected in the 7th round as a total of 231st by the Minnesota Vikings . In the first two seasons he was mainly used as safety in the special teams , in 20111 he finally became starting safety in regular defense .

Washington Redskins

After several injuries during the preparation, he was released in 2014 shortly before the start of the regular season . At the end of September 2014, he signed a contract with the Washington Redskins , which was dissolved after three games.

New Orleans Saints

On November 11, 2014, Sanford was signed by the New Orleans Saints, who suffered several injuries-related absences in the secondary. He was out of the 2016 season due to an injury, and in 2017 his contract was not renewed.
