James Achurch
James Achurch ( James Dudley "Jim" Achurch ; born January 21, 1928 , † November 5, 2015 ) was an Australian javelin thrower .
In 1954 he won the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Vancouver . At the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 , he was eliminated from qualification.
1953 and 1954 he was Australian champion. He set his personal best of 68.94 m in 1956. In 1991 he was inducted into the Sunshine Coast Sports Hall of Fame .
