James Di Pasquale

James Di Pasquale (born April 7, 1941 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American composer .

Life

James Di Pasquale is the son of Hugo and Lucille, née Ciccone, Di Pasquale. After graduating from St. Mel's High School , he studied at Northwestern University and the Manhattan School of Music , with David Diamond and Ludmila Uhlela among his lecturers. He then played for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra , the Bolshoi Ballet and the Royal Ballet . At the same time he worked with musicians such as Gerry Mulligan , Ella Fitzgerald , Henry Mancini and Barbra Streisand . He was also a brief member of the Paul Winter Consort .

Di Pasquale made his debut as a film composer in 1975 with the television drama Sarah T., a young alcoholic , directed by Richard Donner . By 1996 more than 40 other film compositions followed. Di Pasquale has been nominated five times for an Emmy Award . He was honored for his music for the films Two of a Kind , Die Liebe siegt and Rosamunde Pilcher: The Shell Seekers .

From 1995 to 2003, Di Pasquale was married to Donna McNeely. They have a daughter together.
