James Donn

James Donn (* 1758 ; † June 14, 1813 in Monivaird , Perthshire ) was an English botanist . Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Donn ".

Donn first worked under William Aiton in the royal botanical gardens of Kew . From 1790 until his death in 1813 he was a conservator at the Cambridge Botanical Gardens . In 1796 he published a list of the plants in this garden for the first time, which was continuously updated in the following decades: Hortus cantabrigiensis, or, A catalog of plants, indigenous and foreign, cultivated in the Walkerian Botanic Garden , Cambridge, 1796.
