James Edward Fitzgerald (born December 30, 1938 in Chicago , † September 11, 2003 ) was Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Joliet, Illinois .

Life

James Edward Fitzgerald was ordained a priest on May 23, 1964 . Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Joliet, Illinois and titular bishop of Walla Walla on January 11, 2002 .

The Bishop of Joliet, Illinois, Joseph Leopold Imesch , consecrated him on March 19 of the same year as bishop ; Co-consecrators were Roger Louis Kaffer , Auxiliary Bishop in Joliet, Illinois, and Daniel Leo Ryan , Old Bishop of Springfield, Illinois .

He resigned from his office on June 5, 2003.
