James Francis Ginty (born December 4, 1980 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American film actor .

Life

James Ginty is the only son of actor Robert Ginty, who died in September 2009, and his wife, actress Francine Tacker . Ginty grew up in Washington, DC , where he received his education from the seventh grade in a boarding school.

Originally Ginty wanted to pursue a military career, and was therefore two years cadet at the Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne ( Pennsylvania ). Then, however, he embarked on the career of an artist, completed a four-year training at the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen ( Michigan ) and most recently the Juilliard School in New York City . Ginty is now a trained ballet dancer .

In 1990, at the age of 10, Ginty stood in front of the camera at his father's side in Vietnam, Texas , who was to be followed by a twelve-year hiatus. In 2002 he took on a supporting role in the period film K-19 - Showdown in the Depth at the side of Liam Neeson and Harrison Ford . It was to be his only film for a long time, because after that he was only seen as a guest actor in television series, including 2006 in Emergency Room - Die Notaufnahme or in 2007 in two episodes of the soap sacrifice Zeit der Sehnsucht . In 2009 Ginty celebrated his comeback as a movie actor in the thriller Surrogates - My Second Me at the side of Bruce Willis .
