James Godday (born January 9, 1984 in Kaduna , Nigeria) is a Nigerian sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .
At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , he competed in the Nigerian 4 x 400 meter relay . Together with Musa Audu , Saul Weigopwa and Enefiok Udo-Obong , he won the bronze medal behind the teams from the United States and Australia in 3: 00.90 minutes . Godday also started in the 400-meter run and reached the semi-finals.
At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 and at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne , he reached the semi-finals in the 400-meter run. At the 2006 African Championships in Bambous , he was fifth over the same distance. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008, he reached the semifinals again over 400 m. A Nigerian 4 x 400 meter relay did not compete there.
James Godday was also the Nigerian national champion in the 400-meter run in 2005 and 2006. With a height of 1.70 m, he has a competition weight of 72 kg.
