James Robert Hoffman (born June 12, 1932 in Fremont , † February 8, 2003 in Toledo ) was Bishop of Toledo .

Life

James Robert Hoffman was ordained a priest on July 28, 1957 .

Paul VI appointed him on April 18, 1978 auxiliary bishop in Toledo and titular bishop of Italica . The Bishop of Toledo, John Anthony Donovan , ordained him bishop on June 23 of that year ; Co- consecrators were Joseph Louis Bernardin , Archbishop of Cincinnati , and Albert Henry Ottenweller , Bishop of Steubenville .

As a motto he chose Omnia Omnibus . John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Toledo on December 16, 1980.
