James Walker (hurdler)
James Walker (born October 25, 1957 ) is a retired American hurdler and sprinter .
In 1979 he won the Pan American Games in San Juan over 400 m hurdles and in the 4 x 400 m relay and won bronze over 400 m hurdles at the Universiade .
The US Olympic boycott prevented his participation in the 1980 Olympic Games . He won the alternate Liberty Bell Classic over 400 m hurdles.
In 1978 he was US champion over 400 m hurdles. Starting for Auburn University , he was NCAA champion over 400 m hurdles in 1978 and 1979 and NCAA indoor champion over 440 yards in 1979 .
