Jamie Brewer (born February 5, 1985 in California ) is an American actress who has been working as a stage actress since the 1990s and has also appeared in various film and television productions since 2011. The actress with Down syndrome achieved international fame mainly through her participation in five seasons of the American Horror Story series . In addition, she is active in the Arc of the United States , an organization that works for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, where she also held higher offices in the organization.

Life

Brewer began her acting career around 1999 with minor theater appearances in regional performances. She plays in various plays across the country, but mostly around her hometown of Houston . She received her acting training from Mt. San Jacinto College in Riverside County , California. She speaks the American Sign Language . Brewer mainly plays in the improvisational The Groundlings in Los Angeles Theater.

Brewer is involved in the Arc of the United States , an organization that works for people with intellectual disabilities and impaired intellectual development. In the movement, she was president of the ARC in the Fort Bend Chapter , then was elected to the Texas state's Arc Board and won the election to the Executive Board , where she held the office of treasurer .

In that position, she was spokeswoman for the State of Texas Organizing Government Committee at the Texas State Capitol , discussing a change in law with the Senators .
