Jan-Andrea Bard

Jan-Andrea "Janto" Bard (* 1981 in Pfäffikon ZH ) is a Swiss jazz musician ( piano , composition ).

Bard learned to play the piano from the age of six. Initially, he dealt with mathematics and began studying physics. He then studied with Lester Menezes, Hans Feigenwinter and Malcolm Braff at the Basel Jazz School , where he met the members of his quintet Janto's Holding , which he founded in 2014 . His debut album was released with this band in October 2015. As a large-format follow-up band , he founded Janto's Oktaeder . He is also active in the Trio Trivium , the Christine Huthmacher Trio and with the interactive audio installation Noise Tracker . He also toured with Feya Faku .
