Andresen, who started for the Hamar Skiklubb , ran his first race in the Continental Cup in Nybygda in January 2000 and came in 38th place over 10 km classic. In the following month he took his first victory in the Continental Cup over 10 km in Rumford . He completed his first of a total of 27 individual races in the Cross-Country World Cup in March 2000 in Oslo , which he finished in 64th place in the sprint. In the 2002/03 season he won at the beginning of the season at the Continental Cup in Gaasbu in the pursuit and in March 2003 got his first World Cup points with 21st place over 58 km in the classic Birkebeinerrennet . At the beginning of the 2004/05 season he won third place at the Scandinavian Cup in Veldre over 15 km freestyle and over 15 km classic. In January 2004 he reached in Nové Město with fourth place over 15 km freestyle his best individual placement in the World Cup. At the season highlight of the Nordic World Ski Championships 2005 in Oberstdorf , he came in 29th place over 15 km freestyle. He finished the season in 46th place in the Distance World Cup and ninth in the overall ranking of the Scandinavian Cup. In December 2005 he reached in Canmore with fifth place over 15 km freestyle his second and last top ten placement in the World Cup. At the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin , he finished 41st in the mass start race over 50 km freestyle and 27th in the skiathlon . He completed his last international race in February 2010 at the Scandinavian Cup in Gjøvik . There he came in 31st place in the 30 km mass start race. At Norwegian championships he was second in the 15 km in 2005 and third in the pursuit in 2006.
