Knight Jan Elias Huydecoper van Maarsseveen (born January 8, 1735 in Amsterdam - † February 17, 1808 ), army of Maarsseveen and Neerdijk, ambassador of Urk and Emmeloord , was a mayor of Amsterdam .

biography

Huydecoper came from the aristocratic family Huydecoper van Maarsseveen . He was the son of the Amsterdam regent Joan Huydecoper (III) van Maarsseveen and Sophia Maria Agatha van der Meulen. In 1760 he became a member of the city government as Vroedschap . In 1768 one of the leading figures in the Dutch East India Company . In the years 1772 and 1777 to 1797 he was in the States General . Huydecoper's appointments as mayor of Amsterdam fell in 1785, 1788, 1791 and 1794; at the same time he was councilor of the Admiralty of Amsterdam (1789-1790) and between the years 1793 and 1795 one of the last directors of theSociety of Suriname .
