Jan Faltyn

Jan Faltyn (born October 10, 1952 in Óleszna ) is a former Polish cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

His first appearance for the Polish national team was in 1972 in the British Milk Race . In 1976 he was second in the overall classification of the Rhineland-Palatinate Tour behind his compatriot Mieczysław Nowicki . A year later he had his greatest success, at the UCI track world championships he won the silver medal in the points race behind Constant Tourné . In total, he competed four times at world championships in various disciplines. He won six Polish championship titles: in 1972, 1973, 1975 and 1976 he won the team time trial . In 1978 he became Polish mountain champion and in 1981 he won the team pursuit on the track with Dolmel Wrocław . In 2004 he ended his career.
