Jan Gnägi

Jan Gnägi (born August 11, 1991 in Biel ) is a Swiss politician ( BDP ).

Political career

Gnägi joined the BDP of the Canton of Bern on June 21, 2008 as a founding member and was elected the first President of the Jäissberg BDP section on May 6, 2009. Gnägi has been secretary of the BDP Seeland since 2009 .

In the elections on March 28, 2010 , he was elected as the youngest member of the Grand Council in the constituency of Biel-Seeland with 4,859 votes . In the 2014 elections he received 5,471 votes and ended up on the first substitute place. Because Heinz Siegenthaler moved up to the National Council , he was still able to keep his seat on the Grand Council. In the 2018 grand council elections, Jan Gnägi was re-elected with the best result on his list.

In 2016 Gnägi presided over the organizing committee of the Seeländisches Landesteilschießen 2016. Since 2015 he has also been president of the volunteer agency BENEVOL Biel and the surrounding area. In 2018 he was elected President of the BDP Canton of Bern.

Gnägi is a merchant and lives in Aarberg .
