Jan Kaltenböck (born September 23, 1982 in Ústí nad Labem , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech - Austrian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HC Stadion Litoměřice in the second highest Czech league, the 1st division , since 2008 .

Career

He came to ice hockey through his father, who himself played in the Austrian National League. Jan Kaltenböck started his career in 2000 with the Czech second division club HC Slovan Ústí nad Labem before moving to KLH Chomutov . He completed his first professional season at the third division club HC Stadion Teplice . From 2004 he was in the squad of the EC Red Bull Salzburg in the Austrian ice hockey league , but was mainly used in the Salzburg farm team in the national league. His contract, which expired in summer 2006, was not extended by those responsible at EC Salzburg.

For the 2006/07 season he returned to his home country for third division club HC Tábor , before he was in the squad during the 07/08 season after a brief engagement with Hokej Šumperk in 2003 at the Czech second division club HC Most. Since 2008 he has been playing for the HC Stadion Litoměřice , with whom he was promoted to the first division in 2010.
