Jan Libíček

Jan Libíček (born September 28, 1931 in Zlín , † May 24, 1974 in Prague ) was a Czech actor .

Jan Libíček studied acting at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in the mid-1950s . There he also worked on numerous theater stages, including the Divadlo Na zábradlí and the Divadlo Komedie . In addition, Libíček appeared in around 60 Czech film and television productions from the mid-1960s. The plump character actor played mostly funny but kind-hearted supporting characters. In Germany, he achieved a certain level of notoriety primarily through the fairy tale film Three Hazelnuts for Cinderella from 1973. In this film he portrayed the role of the dutiful preceptor who is supposed to give lessons to the prince in vain. Jan Libíček died a year after the film at the age of 42.
