Jan Philipp Zymny
Jan Philipp Zymny (born March 9, 1993 in Wuppertal ) is a German slam poet and author . In 2013 and 2015 he won the German Poetry Slam Championship , and in 2012 he finished second. He also won the jury award “Premature Ripe and Corrupted” at the Prix Pantheon 2016.
In 2012, Zymny published his first book Back and forth - just uphill! , in which he combines many humorous stories and poems. His second book followed in 2014, Henry Frottey - His First Fall - Part Two: The End of the Trilogy ; in it he tells the story of private detective Henry Frottey in a humorous and satirical way . Both books received mostly positive reviews. On November 3, 2015, his third book It was twice ... was published , in which Zymny brings together confusing and absurd thoughts and turns them into a story. Between 2012 and 2015 he and Maximilian Humpert , Fabian Navarro and he formed the slam team Team 101, together they toured Germany as a reading stage and reached the final of the team slam in 2012.
He is known for his text “Physics is beautiful. Nobody needs physics. ”As well as for the presentations of his texts“ Awesome ”and“ Any Sunday Sermon ”at the finals of the NightWash Talent Awards 2013. With the former he won the competition, which was held in a washroom.
Since the beginning of 2014 he has been touring German-speaking countries with his first solo program "Bärenkatapult!" He has presented his second solo program “Children of Weirdness” since September 11, 2016. The third solo program “How to Human” had a preview on September 12, 2018. On January 4, 2019 to Prime Video , the comedy special power he does not eh! The Sorrows of Young Zymny published with Zymny, Jason Bartsch and Tino Bomelino .
