Jan Pieter Heye

Jan Pieter Heye , also Jan Pieter Heije , (born March 1, 1809 in Amsterdam ; † February 24, 1876 ibid) was a Dutch doctor and poet.

Heye studied medicine in Leiden and then established himself as a general practitioner in his hometown. Among other things, he edited the Archief voor Geneeskunde from 1840–45 and in 1847 became president of the Society for the Advancement of Medicine.

While practicing poetry with zeal, he first attracted public attention with his Liederen en zangen (1841), then with his children's songs (1847). They followed:
